In 1991, the Republic of Belarus evolved on the map as an independent state. The plant was transformed into an open joint stock company with the 100PCT state capital. Now the plant and its two affiliated branches have about 500 men employed.

Nowadays, the plant annually processes about 100 000MT of milk, manufacturing about 6000MT of the full cream milk powder (FCMP), 2100MT of the skimmed milk powder (SMP), 1800MT of butter, and 1100MT of various dairy products for the home market.

90PCT of the plants products are exported to 17 countries of the world, from Japan to those of the Caribbean region. This has become possible due to two main factors — a tradition of the highest quality retained from the Soviet times, and the uniqueness of the area, as far as raw materials are concerned.

The area of the Lepel region, where the plant is located, is 1820sq.m. A part of this area-1000sq.m., or 55PTC, is covered with forests. On the territory of the region, there are 130 lakes, 20 small rivers, and 60 brooks. The entire area of water surface is 77sq.m.

In the region, the national etalon of ecological purity of the Republic of Belarus is located — the Berezinsky biospherical reservation. In the reservation, they discern 20 different kinds of trees, 52 kinds of mammals, 203 kinds of birds, and 34 kinds of fish.

According to German ecologists, who have assessed the situation in the region under the aegis of UNESCO, the Lepel region is the 3-d leading area in Europe as to the ecological purity. The ecological factor together with the moderate climate, favorably influence the variety of grass of pastures.

This helps to obtain milk with the highest taste, physical and chemical characteristics. The absence of a tradition to feed animals with different additives of unnatural origin, and strict veterinary control, make it possible to define our dairy products as organic.

The system of productions quality supply at the OJSC Lepel Plant of Dairy Products, is founded on the demands of the regulatory documents about all kinds of work, and structures.

In the enterprise there are regulatory documents and technological instructions on all kinds of input and output.

The production laboratory controls the quality of input and output, additional materials, technological processes on all stages of production.
